Congregation Gesher Shalom Hebrew School

Mission

Congregation Gesher Shalom believes that any Jewish child is entitled to a Jewish education.  To that end, we offer many educational opportunities, including a One-Day Program, a Two-Day Program, and custom-made, Alternative-Track programs.  No matter what abilities a child may have or at what age he/she may be, Congregation Gesher Shalom strives to meet their educational needs.

Hebrew School Goals

No matter in which program a student participates, the Hebrew School at Congregation Gesher Shalom promotes…

        A love of Judaism

A strong connection to the nation of Israel and to Klal Yisrael, the Jewish people as a whole

Development of skills in becoming actively connected with synagogue life

        Hebrew and Prayer literacy

        Instilling pride in Jewish Heritage

Exploration of the students’ relationship with God

        Creating life-long Jewish learners

Knowledge of our Jewish history, traditions, and customs

The ability to celebrate our Jewish holidays meaningfully

One-Day Program

Sundays, 9:00 am-12:00 pm

Pre-Kindergarten through grade one takes place on Sundays only.  In addition, Congregation Gesher Shalom offers a program for students in grades 2-7 who wish to come one day only.

Two-Day Program

Sundays, 9:00 am-12:00 pm

Wednesdays 4:00 pm-6:00 pm

Many of our students choose to attend Hebrew school twice a week, which provides more advanced learning in Hebrew language and additional classes within our key curricular areas.

Alternative Track Opportunities

We offer the ability to create unique learning opportunities for any child because we recognize that each student learns in different ways.  The times of these special classes vary and are based on the needs of the students and their respective families.  We have offered in-home classes for individual students, special classes for groups of friends who wish to learn outside of a formal classroom, and more.
